About Us

Who Is Open Arms?
OAO is an outreach ministry of Cornerstone Community Church (C3) in Frisco Texas, consisting of Believers who volunteer their time, talent and gifting to help families in need. However, OAO Volunteers are not exclusively from C3. Our Volunteers are from many different churches and denominations that share the belief that as believers, it is our responsibility and joy to work in fulfilling the great commission as commanded by Jesus our savior.

Who do we Serve?
Families, regardless of religion or race, who have a child that is suffering from a life-threatening illness or injury.

Where do we Serve?
Homes in the Frisco/Plano area and area hospitals.

How do we Serve?
By living out the gospel of Christ in practical ways. Volunteers will help with housecleaning, yard work, home & automotive repair, transportation, grocery shopping, cooking, child care, hospital visitations, and many other tasks to provide  physical, emotional and spiritual support, while conforming to high standards of integrity.

OAO also provides a network of information resources, for Families in Need, Volunteers, and anyone interested in becoming a part of the OAO family.

When do we Serve?
When the family needs us.  As OAO becomes aware of a family in need, volunteers will respond with the same sense of urgency that the family has.

Why do we Serve?
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”.
Romans 8:28

God has commanded us to carry each other’s burdens.  To help the poor in spirit and the hungry so that all may know the love of Christ that surpasses all things.

Through the Holy Bible, we learn that the greatest commandment is this:  To love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind.  And the second greatest commandment is this:  To love your Neighbor as yourself.

In Luke 10:25-37, in the illustration of the Good Samaritan, Who was the neighbor to the man in need?  It was the one who extended mercy.  Jesus tells Each one of us to "NOW, GO and do likewise".

"The way the world will know the compassion of Christ is by seeing the outstretched arms of His followers"
